I am an emerging artist with a twenty-year background in the design industry. That experience continues to shape my practice, sharpening my awareness of structure, hierarchy and visual language. I work across painting, mixed media, collage and assembled, experimental materials to investigate meaning and power, contradiction, order vs chaos, presence vs absence.
Process is not separate from the work; it is the work. I make “sacrificial” paintings alongside more resolved compositions, allowing space for risk, disruption and failure. These parallel works act as testing grounds where structure can be undone and reconfigured. Mark making introduces friction within the painting field, interrupting balance and resisting complete resolution. Although my subject matter shifts, questions of feminine power and autonomy remain central. I’m interested in the relationships created between different works and how the curation and placement of these objects can change the ultimate meaning and interpretation.
I paint and make because I value the physical act itself. The movement of the hand, the layering of materials and the build up of surface are not secondary to the ideas - they are how the ideas emerge. The work holds both intention and instinct, structure and impulse.
